Do you know anyone who might like to try out a River Rascals program with an accessibility focus?
Whether it is due to mobility or developmental challenges, sometimes it can be hard to jump into a typical community program while worrying if it is going to meet your family’s needs.
*** River Rascals Accessible Play Group ***
We have been consulting with community partners to explore and create a River Rascals session that is accessibility-focused. We have found a great location in Mount Pearl that is fairly level and has a web of trails that will allow people in wheelchairs or using other walking aids to easily manoeuvre around the wooded areas. With a specific focus on child-led exploration and meeting individual needs, this program will let River Rascals with mobility or developmental challenges find fun ways to enjoy nature play with new friends!
As with all our programs, the children would attend with their loving adults, and siblings can register in the same session. Our goal remains the same: helping families to explore and connect with nature together.
If you, or a community you work with, would like to take advantage of this series, send us a request below! We can open a session with four to six interested families. We can also organize a one-time nature connection event for a few families to see if it is a fit.
